Nichols Elementary opened in August of 2002. Our parents are actively involved with our school. In 2012 we started a program for parents called WATCH D.O.G.S. WATCH D.O.G.S. is an innovative program being used by schools across America which helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their student’s life. The goal is to have these men spend at least one day a year at the school to be an extra set of eyes and ears as a positive male role model.

Nichols also has a Learning Tree program. Northside School District’s Learning Tree program offers opportunities for children to access academic enrichment, social, and recreational experiences in an after school environment that is safe and supervised. It is run by the Community Education Department, known for its long history of providing quality programming for children. For more information go to http://www.nisd.net/learning-tree/.
