Free and reduced-price meals available to qualifying students

August 14, 2014

Northside School District will again participate in the National School Lunch Program which provides free and reduced-price meals for students from households with qualifying incomes. Households must apply every school year for the meal program. In addition, foster children who are the legal responsibility of a welfare agency or court may also be eligible for benefits regardless of the income of the household.

All NISD students may buy lunch for $2 at elementary schools and $2.25 at secondary schools. Breakfast may be purchased for $1 at both the elementary and secondary schools. The reduced price is $.40 for lunch and $.30 for breakfast at all grade levels.

To receive free or reduced-price meals for their children, individuals must complete an application and return it to the school or to NISD Child Nutrition Department, 7520 Mainland Dr., San Antonio, Texas 78250. For faster service, applications may be submitted online.
