18 students advance to National History Competition

Northside will have a record number of students participating in the National History Day Competition June 15-19 at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. Eighteen students from four schools advanced to the national competition after earning a first place or second place award at the Texas State History Competition.

Thirty three Northside history students competed in the Texas State History Competition on May 2 and 3 in Austin. Students competed in nine categories and at two levels, senior level for high school students and junior level for middle school students.
