Brennan falls to Denton Guyer in state championship game

Denton Guyer High School defeated Brennan High School 31-14 to win the 4A Division 1 State Championship Dec. 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

 “I am so proud of the Brennan Bears and the way they competed this entire season,” says Brian T. Woods, Superintendent. ”Though they came up short this final game, they showed the hearts of champions as they represented Northside ISD at the highest level of competition.”

“Thank you to all who have supported this football team and this school- parents, staff, community, and especially the students from the band, cheerleaders, pep squad, dance team, and ROTC.”

Brennan High School opened in fall of 2010 and the football team went 0 -10 their inaugural season. Several of the seniors on the state championship team played as freshmen on the first team.

The head coach of the Brennan Bears is Stephen Basore.
