With the input of over 5,000 citizens, parents and staff as well as the commentary from three focus groups totaling another 600 people, the 2013-2018 Strategic Plan was written and ultimately approved by the School Board.
“The Strategic Plan provides a blueprint for the future,” says Dr. Brian Woods, Superintendent. “It represents the thinking and vision of our community about what is important to us and our students and where to put our resources.”
The Strategic Plan Committee met over a period of three months to design a plan that describes the vision, mission and beliefs of this community. “It will be a living and dynamic document and will guide our actions and decision-making for the next five years,” Woods adds.
The key areas include promoting community involvement; educating diverse learners; hiring, developing and maintaining quality staff; and promoting a safe environment for students and staff.
For every priority and objective that was adopted, specific activity plans have been developed to implement them. Regular reports will be made to measure progress. All the information is posted on the Strategic Plan website.
