Northside ALPHA (Gifted and Talented program) teachers met with the Honorable Wallace B. Jefferson, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Texas, while attending the Hatton W. Sumners Law-Related Education Conference in Austin on July 10, 2013.

The conference provided Northside elementary ALPHA teachers an opportunity to participate in Moot Court oral arguments at the Supreme Court of Texas in preparation for ALPHA’s 2013-2014 interdisciplinary unit, Law & Justice.

Chief Justice Jefferson is a Jay High School graduate, the District’s first Pillar of Fairness, and the namesake of Wallace B. Jefferson Middle School.
