Carnahan Elementary School celebrated the grand opening of their Parent Center with a ribbon-cutting and tour of the new space.
The Center provides parents a place where they can volunteer at the school and also bring their young children with them. The room has meeting/work space, a kids play area, a bathroom, kitchenette and a business area.
Parents played a key role in developing the Center along with the school’s Parental Involvement Committee.
Principal Lisa Turner says the Parent Center is an important step to help parents feel comfortable visiting the school and utilizing the resources available to support their child’s education.
The school received a Northside Education Foundation Team Grant that will fund laptops and parent workshops.
