Dr. Carol Harle was sworn in as a Northside ISD trustee Tuesday night. She replaces District 6 Trustee Randy Fields, who decided not to run for re-election after serving on the Board since 1999.
“I am honored to serve as a member of such a caring, wise team of leaders,” said Dr. Harle, who was sworn in by her husband, Judge Sid Harle. “Collaborative work on behalf of educators, students and their families has been the cornerstone of my life’s work and I am excited about the opportunity to work in partnership with the trustees and stakeholders.”
Harle graduated from Marshall High School and the University of Texas at Austin before becoming a teacher in both Northside ISD and North East ISD. She worked as an Academic Dean at Rayburn Middle School and as a Staff Development Specialist in the NISD Organizational and Staff Development Department. She also served as an Executive Director for the School Improvement Department in North East ISD and as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in San Antonio ISD.
Harle received her Ph.D. in Curriculum Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction in Harlandale ISD.
