O’Connor swimmer wins silver at Deaf Swimming World Championship

Abby McAlpin, a swimmer from O'Connor HS, participated in the Deaf Swimming World Championship meet in Portugal this summer. She won a silver medal in the 100-yard backstroke, a silver medal in the 200-yard backstroke, and was a member on the bronze medal 4x100 medley relay team, for which she swam the backstroke leg. In the end, the team from the United States beat every other team competing and came home with the Team Trophy.
