Feds require increase in student meal pricing for 2011-2012

Dear Parent / Guardian,

Child Nutrition Services wishes you and your family another great year.

Did you know that Child Nutrition Services serves over 100,000 Meals a Day! We are constantly meeting the needs of our customers through new menus and food choices. We take great pride in ensuring that Quality, Service and Value are served with every meal. In recent years, Child Nutrition has not raised meal prices in spite of challenging economic conditions; instead our department has looked for more efficient ways to offset the cost of inflation.

Effective July 2011, there is a new Federal Requirement to raise student paid pricing. In complying with this mandate, NISD will raise student paid pricing by the smallest increase allowed, $.05 cents per student lunch meal. This is a requirement of Federal Law; NISD did not want to increase pricing.

Please note that no other student meal prices are affected. Please review the 2011-2012 Student Meal Pricing:
