FIRST, or For Inspirations and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an innovative robotics competition which builds knowledge of science, technology and engineering.  Students work under strict rules, limited resources and time limits to design, build and program a robot to perform a specific function based on sound engineering principles.  Students competed in head-to-head competitions against other teams from across Texas, United States and Mexico.
