Exhibit at NISD museum pays homage to graduations past

May 4, 2012

Thanks to enrollment growth, Northside ISD graduations have been making history since the District’s first graduation in 1951.

Memorabilia from that graduation, and the scores of graduations since then, is on display at the NISD Museum from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until June 8 (District offices close at noon on June 8). The museum is located at 6632 Bandera Road in the old Leon Valley School at the corner of Bandera and Grissom roads.

Items on display include diplomas, programs, and photos from early graduations collected by the NISD School Museum Association. Dozens of old yearbooks also are available for viewing.

The Northside School Museum Association is run by volunteers and is committed to collecting, preserving, and sharing the history of Northside ISD. Watch this NISD-TV video to learn more about the NISD School Museum Association.
