The state contest, hosted by the University of Texas at Austin in February, is the culminating German language event for the three regional Texas competitions. The contest includes events in academic, cultural, and performance categories. More than 1,500 students from more than 90 schools competed this year. This makes the Texas German contests the largest contest in the nation and the only one of its kind.
