Purchasing Department receives Award of Merit

May 10, 2011

The NISD Purchasing Department received an Award of Merit from the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). Much of the award's emphasis is based on the Best Practices in Purchasing as identified by the Legislative Budget Board during the Texas School Performance Review process, and on the Purchasing Module in the Management Section of the Financial Accountability System Resource Guide published by the Texas Education Agency. In order to receive the Award of Merit, districts are required to submit a proposal containing substantial and detailed documentation of the purchasing department's policies, procedures, contract operations and oversight, organizational structure, and staff experience. The TASBO Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations provides recognition to school districts that are committed to following professional standards in the acquisition of goods and services. The Purchasing Department is led by Eric Walls, Director, and Teri Mosier, Assistant Director.
