Clark High School Newspaper honored by National Scholastic Press Association

January 21, 2011

The Chronicle, the Clark High School newspaper, earned a Pacemaker Award, one of the highest national awards a high school newspaper can receive, from the National Scholastic Press Association.

When winners were announced at the JEA/NSPA National Convention in Kansas City in November, Clark learned it was the only San Antonio staff to earn this prestigious recognition.

Judges look at coverage, content, quality of writing and reporting, leadership on the opinion page, evidence of in-depth reporting and layout and design. Pacemaker winners will have work published in the Best of the High School Press publication that is disseminated to high school members across the country.
