NISD cheer squads among best in nation

The Brennan, Holmes, O'Connor, and Taft high school cheerleading squads were ranked in the top their categories at the recent National Cheerleaders Association championship in Dallas.

The Brennan High School squad - in its first year of existence - placed second in the Small Intermediate High school division. O'Connor High School placed third in the same category.

Holmes High School ranked second in the Large Novice High School division, and Taft High School ranked second in the Medium Novice division.

In addition, Brandeis High School came in fifth place in the Small Novice division.

Cheer squads had to qualify to compete in the competition, which lasted two days. The NISD teams competed against squads from all over the United States.
