An estimated 120 Carnahan Elementary School students, who are at risk of going hungry on the weekends, have a special weekend backpack.  A group of volunteer parents fill the bags every Friday with simple meals to last the child over the weekend.  The program is called Blessings in a Backpack.  Click here for a firsthand look at how the program is touching lives.

When the Orbital’s Cygnus unmanned resupply spacecraft (Orb-3) takes off to the International Space Station on Monday, Oct. 27 at 5:45 (CST) it will carry a scientific experiment from middle school students from San Antonio.

NISD just received confirmation from the Alamodome regarding the 2015 graduation dates and times. The District will hold 12 graduation ceremonies in June 2015, ten of which are held at the Alamodome.

NORTHSIDE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.

THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 0.41 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $0.00.
