NAMS North courtyard received some much needed renovation this summer. The courtyard was the original playground of the Locke Hill School founded in 1868. It now serves as a place for mentors to meet with students and an eating area for students who have earned school privileges. The rocky asphalt has been replaced with crushed granite, and the numerous trees have been enveloped with mulch. Drought-resistant plants native to South Texas decorate the courtyard providing an appealing landscape for the campus. A dedication for the new courtyard will be held during the campus’ Red Ribbon Rally scheduled for Friday, October 25, 2013.
