Honorary speaker, Kevin Dooley, head security manager for all events at the AT&T Center & Chris Chartier, Operational Manager at the AT&T Center presented to 52 NAHS Career and Technology Education (CATE) students on February 19th. Mr. Dooley & Mr. Chartier discussed avenues that would be taken to get into such a field within the U.S. Department of Education Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security Career Cluster and the HB5 Law Enforcement Program of Study. Included in their speech were various examples of their daily routine, skills needed to be employed within their departments, along with special moments in which they interacted with celebrities. These two gentlemen rounded out this month's CTE activities.
The CATE department conducted a Mock Interview Day on February 12th for all CATE students. During this event, 6 guests conducted mock interviewers for students during their regular class periods. Our guests work in various job industries and were grouped in pairs per period. The schedule for the day was as follows:
The NAHS CTE Department is excited to announce thier next speaker for CTE Month, David Shannon. Mr. Shannon will present to CTE students at NAHS on February 10th. Mr. Shannon is the owner of A-Tex Plumbing Utilities. He will share with students the journey he has taken to become a successful business owner in San Antonio.
