Classes for the 2014-2015 school year will begin on Monday, August 25, 2014.
Registration for the upcoming school year will begin on Monday, August 11th and continue through Friday, August 15th. Registration hours are from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. OR 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Both the student AND parent must come to register in advance to allow for class schedules and arrangement for transportation to be in place for the first day of classes.
After August 15th, registration will be by appointment ONLY. Please call the school at (210) 397-7083 for an appointment. There will not be any registrations on the first day of school.
Below is a list of the required items needed for registration. Please be advised that it is the responsibility of the parent, not NAHS, to obtain all of the necessary items for registration. Failure to do so will cause a delay in the enrollment/registration process. Please bring the following documents:
- Final report card or transcript from the last school attended.
- Notice of Placement to an Alternative Education Program. If the student did not attend NAHS at the end of the last school year, a copy of the placement order can be obtained from the student's home campus or the Office of Pupil Personnel.
- The student must be accompanied by a Parent of Legal Guardian. The Parent/Legal Guardian my bring I.D. Legal Guardians must bring official guardianship documents.
- Proof of Residency - MUST be one of the following: current utility bill (no disconnect notices), voter registration card, lease or rental agreement, a notarized Affidavit of Residency.
- Student Immunization Record

The Violence Prevention Program concluded this week with a total of 34 students receiving their Certificate of Completion. Mr. Samuel Garcia, a veteran teacher at NAHS was recognized Thursday evening by NISD Community Partnerships for his tireless efforts facilitating the Violence Prevention Program. Mr. Garcia began the Violence Prevention Program over 15 years ago when he noticed a dangerous trend of a high number of students getting into serious trouble and going to jail. [Read more...]

On Friday May 2nd, the NAHS College & Career Corner sponsored a group of NAHS Seniors to attend College Signing Day at UTSA. This event celebrated the culmination of Destination College Week. Graduating seniors from across San Antonio committed to going to college and to successfully finish once there. Students were able to hear inspiring messages from UTSA President Dr. Ricardo Romo, Mayor Julian Castro, and keynote address speaker, First Lady Michelle Obama.

The NAHS English Department is excited to announce the campus winners of the May Day Poetry contest. The winners are 10th grader J. Brown with his poem, "When the War Ends" and 9th grader Y. Fuentes with his poem, "Metal and Wood". Their poems may be publised in NISD's poetry anthology. [To read their poems.]

Since 1996, schools, publishers, booksellers, writers, and poets have been celebrating the vital place of poetry in American culture. April is National Poetry Month and the students at NAHS celebrated by experimenting with different poetry genres. Students joined together across grade-levels and participated in workshops focusing on acrostic poems, diamante poetry, freestyle poetry, and found poetry. From these workshops, completed poems were judged for submission possibilities for NISD’s May Day Celebration.

Warren High School will host a “Student Aid San Antonio” Saturday event this Saturday, March 22, to help students and parents apply for college financial aid.
