About the School
Dr. Winn Murnin Elementary School was built to accommodate 800 students in 49 regular and special purpose classrooms. The school was constructed for $15.2 million.
Murnin, a 110,499 square-foot facility on a 14-acre site adjacent to Stevens High School, was designed to provide the most functional and attractive instructional environment for the children and teachers. A state-of-the-art facility, the school has the latest in computer technology, a video distribution system that includes an in-house media distribution system (Murnin-TV), mounted monitors, and telephones in all classrooms.
Murnin Elementary is one of 11 schools funded by the 2004 voter approved school bond issue.
The most up-to-date technology has been installed at Murnin Elementary, including 152 computers, audio visual equipment and supplies, software, printers, and phones, totaling a $429,729 investment.
PBK Architects designed this neighborhood school. Kunz Construction served as contractor.
