Bio/Principal of Mireles ES
Norma Farrell has been appointed Principal at Judge Andy Mireles Elementary School.
Farrell joined Northside in 2006 as a fourth grade bilingual teacher at Wanke Elementary School. She then served as an Administrator Intern at Beard and Ott Elementary Schools before opening Henderson Elementary as the Vice Principal in August 2010. Two years later, Farrell opened Los Reyes Elementary in August 2012, also as the Vice Principal. Before joining Northside, she taught fourth grade in North East ISD.
Farrell received a B.B.A. in Management from the University of the Incarnate Word and a M.A. in Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She also completed the Principal Certification program through UTSA.
Bio/Vice-Principal of Mireles ES
Talia Hernandez will serve as the vice-principal of Judge Andy Mireles Elementary School.
Hernandez joined Northside ISD in 2008 as a first grade bilingual teacher at Forester Elementary School. She moved to Passmore Elementary and Cable Elementary in 2009 as a school counselor. She then helped open Judge Andy Mireles Elementary as a school counselor in 2011. Before joining Northside ISD, Hernandez served as a second and third grade bilingual teacher at Harlandale ISD and also served as a program advisor for the Outreach Programs at The University of Texas at San Antonio partnered with Northside ISD and John Jay High School. She received a B.B.A. in Management and a M.A. in Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio and she also received an M.A. in Educational Administration from Lamar University.
