From the Principal's Desk

Dear Roadrunner families,

This school year is going so quickly!  After we return from the Winter break, we begin looking at how well our students are progressing towards grade level promotion standards.  Mr. Garcia (VP) and I meet with every teacher to review the progress of every student.  At this time, we discuss possible interventions for your child in order to be successful.  I encourage you to have your child read and practice their math facts over the break.  If your child is in a STAAR grade level you can go to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) website at http://www.tea.state.tx.us and download a STAAR release test in Reading, Writing, Math and Science in Spanish or English.  Talk to your child's teacher for additional resources to work on over the break.  As always we appreciate your help and support as we continue to work together for your child's success.

Our next parent workshop “Fun with Letters” will be Dec. 17 at 9:45-10:45 a.m.. or 11:45-12:45 p.m..  Any parents/grandparents that have children enrolled at our school and who also have a Pre-K or younger age child at home are invited to attend in our library.

May Elementary Roadrunner Romp 2014 Carnival will be held Friday, March 28, 2014  4:00-8:00 p.m..   Our carnival committee is working together to make this event another success!  More information will be going home after the Holidays.

If you have any questions please feel free to call me at 397-2000.

Happy Holidays,

Mrs. Bonnett
