Communication is an important part of any relationship, therefore, should you have any compliments or concerns, I am happy to share an email, phone call or meeting with you. I look forward to meeting each of you and forming relationships that foster success for our amazing students! Our first opportunity to meet is Thursday, August 22nd at our Meet the Teacher event from 5:30-6:30 pm. As you were informed earlier this week we have been very cautious regarding an email threat to an unspecified elementary school in the city. Although SAPD has stated that the threat is not credible, student safety is always our primary concern and therefore, visitor procedures will be strictly enforced for tomorrow. Additionally, we will be limiting outdoor activities (no recess) and staff will ensure that all exterior doors remain locked.
Our campus will not allow visitors tomorrow due to STAAR Testing. As an extra precautionary measure, I have placed active monitors at the entrance hallway to instill controlled access to our campus. The front entry door will be locked along with the side gates. Parents Actively Caring for Kids (P.A.C.K.) will be monitoring and escorting students to and from the portable areas.
Thank you for your continued support.
