March 3-7, 2014 was Young Authors' Week. At Lewis we celebrated with many different activities. All week long 4th grade students shared original writing with the rest of the school during morning announcements. On Monday and Tuesday we had Classroom Writer’s Workshop where the administrators, Ms. Fry and Mrs. Gallego, visit classrooms and the students shared their writing with them. Wednesday was
Lewis “Books n Pajamas” School Wide Read-In. All grade levels participated by wearing appropriate pjs and reading all day long. Thursday and Friday were field days and author visit days. Author, Jeff Crosby, who wrote Weiner Dog, visited with PreK -2nd grade on Thursday. On Friday, author, Angela Cervantes visited with the older students. She is actually the aunt of one of our 4th grade students in Ms. Lee's class. She wrote, Gaby Lost and Found. The student enjoyed the speakers and fun was had by all.
