March 3-7, 2014 was Young Authors' Week. At Lewis we celebrated with many different activities. All week long 4th grade students shared original writing with the rest of the school during morning announcements. (read more)

Congratulations to the Lewis Teachers of the Year for the 2013-2014 school year. Mrs. Joan Moss, one of our fabulous 1st grade teachers is the Lewis Elementary Educator of the Year. Terrific 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Melissa Alvarez, is the Lewis First Year Educator of the Year and our wonderful ECT, Mrs. Gina Gonzalez, is the Lewis Assistant of the Year. (read more)

The "Singing Zoologist" visited with all the Lewis students on in the library! He entertained and taught everyone with jokes, songs, stories and interesting facts about all kinds of animals. Thank you Mr. Miller. We enjoyed your visit!

In elementary school only 5th grade students take the STAAR Science test. The test does cover material, curriculum and skills that the students have been studying since kindergarten. This time of year they are studing about how energy transfers into many forms, such as, heat, light, sound, and electricity. In th picture students are working with is circuits.

It is time for us to lend a hand to our adopted Northside elementary school. The Student Council will be collecting canned and dry food products in the main foyer of the school, from Monday, November 4, 2013 through Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 7:15-7:45 a.m. (read more)
