Library News

For 2012-2013, you and your child have access to FREE ebooks, databases and other great electronic resources that NISD and our Krueger Library subscribe to.  These resources include: World Book Online, Nettrekker, Proquest, Teachingbooks.net, Tumblebook Library and NEW elementary access to the Northside ISD Digital LIbrary.

The Northside ISD Digital Library provides ebooks that can be downloaded onto your home computer and/or mobile devices for reading 24/7, 365 days a year!  It is a high-interest way to provide children with reading pleasure even when our school is closed for the holidays or over the summer break.

See the "Getting Started" section of the Digital Library home page for instructions on downloading OverDrive and Adobe Digital Editions to get started.  Your child's username, s###### (s for student, followed by a 6-digit student id#) will grant access for ebooks at the 5th grade reading level and below.

From our campus web page, look under Faculty and Staff, click Specialists, click Miss Middleswart, then scroll to the bottom of the page.  For databases and the Northside Digital Library, click Online Encyclopedia and Databases.  For the Tumblebook Library, select the link Tumblebook Library.  Stop by the library to obtain the passwords required for home use of these resources.  Remember these resources are FREE and provide child safe information for research as well as learning activities for all ages.
