The Risk Management function administers the District's
Property and Casualty program. Risk Management purchases insurance
coverage for protection against potential property (buildings,
vehicles, specific building content/equipment, etc.) losses.
Risk Management works with a consultant and the insurance marketplace
to assure District assets and/or specific situations are properly
valued and insured in order to minimize the financial burden
affecting other District resources. In pursuit of these goals
we strive to:
* Retain at the lowest
reasonable cost, coverage to provide necessary protection of
District assets.
* Survey and achieve market
penetration to ascertain product availability and capacity in
a fair and equitable manner.
* Ascertain the viability
of coverage markets to protect long-term District stability
as it relates to insured contingency.
* Ascertain specific levels
of retention based on exposure, market capacity and fiscal stability.
Pursuant to these goals and standards, the District carries
the following coverage:
* Commercial Property
* Boiler and Machinery
* Pollution Liability
* School Liability Package
* Crime Coverage
* Fleet Catastrophic
* Excess Workers Compensation
* Student Malpractice
