Education Field Placement

Field placement assignments are for students in area colleges and universitites, as well as to selected alternative certification programs.

Information for University Professors/College Instructors

The Northside ISD Human Resources Department must approve all requests for college/university field placements. This includes all practicums and observations.

  1. Contact the principal or designee at each campus requested to coordinate the placement(s). You must include the name of the person you contact at the campus on the request form. Only the instructor or professor should make contact with campus administrators.

    Note: Students should not contact the campus or the District office.

  2. Direct each student to the on-line Criminal History Authorization request form and Practicum Agreement.

  3. Complete a Request for Field Placement form.

    Note: Avoid District/State test dates when making field placement arrangements.

  4. Save the completed form to your desktop. Submit it to Rebecca Garza as an email attachment. All students must clear the criminal history check before request will be approved and returned to you via your fax number.

  5. Provide each student with a copy of the approved Request for Field Placement form to present to the campus administrator designated on the form.

Information for University Students

Please contact your university or college if you are interested in a placement at a campus in the Northside ISD. Your university or college must contact the appropriate campus administrator, complete a Request for Field Placement form and submit it to the Human Resources Department for approval.

Information for Alternative Certification Program Coordinators

The Northside ISD Human Resources Department must approve all requests for alternative certification field placements. This includes observations.

  1. Contact the principal or designee at each campus requested to coordinate the placement(s). You must include the name of the person you contact at the campus on the request form. Only the coordinator should make contact with campus administrators.

    Note: Candidates should not contact the campus or the District office.

  2. Direct each candidate to the on-line Criminal History Authorization request form.
