With a workforce
of approximately 12,000 employees, Northside Independent School
District is one of the largest employers in the San Antonio
area and is the fourth largest school District in Texas.
One of the main goals
of the Human Resources Department is to recruit, attract, hire,
and retain highly qualified individuals each year to fill approximately
6,300 Professional
positions and 4,750 Classified/Auxiliary
positions. Human Resources is responsible for providing
a comprehensive program of benefits
for it employees as well as a competitive compensation
package designed to attract and retain qualified staff.
Human Resources also hires and trains substitute
teachers and paraprofessionals
for filling employee absences.
The Risk Management
function of Human Resources is responsible for a wide range
of District services, including the Workers'
Compensation Program, the District
Safety Program, Property and Liability Insurance
Programs, and Unemployment Claims.
