UTHSC doctors make “house” calls on high school students

It was National Doctors’ Day and instead of going out and celebrating on their own, a number of faculty members from the UT Health Science Center visited HCHS to talk to our students about their personal stories in hopes to inspire students to choose a career in medicine or science. Speakers represented a wide range of specialties including emergency medicine, psychiatry, family and community medicine, neurology, nephrology, gastroenterology, radiology, microbiology and immunology, and ophthalmology.
Dr. William L. Henrich, president of UT Health Science Center, and Dr. Francisco GonzalezScarano, dean of the School of Medicine and vice president for Medical Affairs, spoke to students. Pictured is Principal Linda Burk (right) with Dr. Henrich.
