George Lynn Britton was first elected to the Board in 2003. A past Vice President of the Board, he is the Secretary of the Board as well as the Chair of the Building Committee. He serves on the Academics and Technology committees, is the Board representative to the Northside Education Foundation, and is an Honorary Life Member of the Texas PTA.

Britton taught Mathematics at Jay High School from 1967 until his retirement as Math Department Chairman in 2002. He serves as President of the Lackland Terrace Neighborhood Association and is Chairman of the Alamo Service Connection's (ASC) Budget and Finance Committee and the Bexar County/City of San Antonio Joint Commission on Elderly Affairs. Britton also is a member of the Union Pacific Citizens Advisory Panel, the City of San Antonio Board of Adjustment, the Lackland AFB Community Council on Restoration, and the ASC Steering Committee. Britton also is a Past President of the Northside Educational Improvement Council and the Board for the San Antonio Educational Facilities Corporation.

Britton graduated from Marshall High School in 1963 and earned a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and English from Southwest Texas State University and a master's degree in Education from Our Lady of the Lake University. Britton's two children, now grown, are Northside products and attended District 1 elementary and middle schools and graduated from Jay High School.
