Club LT, an after school enrichment program especially designed for middle school students is coming to Dr. John Folks Middle School. The program provides academic support and enrichment activities in a safe and fun environment. (more)
The Chili's on Bandera/1604 is participating in a giveback program with Folks MS. Anyone who eats at Chili's February 5th and 6th and brings in the attached flyer, Chili's will donate 10% of the bill to OUR school. How cool is that!
Each year, 8th grade students throughout the state of Texas are required to take a Technology Literacy Assessment. the purpose is to assess students technology skills. The state defines a technology literate student as a student who meets the requirements of the state's Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
On Tuesday, January 14th, Folks MS will have our First Career and College Day on campus. Many parents will be presenting interesting facts about their careers in the morning. In the afternoon, several colleges and Dr. Folks will be speaking to our students.
The Folks Middle School National Junior Honor Society held its first annual wrapping party to help out local charity Elf Louise. Members met at the Elf Louise facility after school and stayed for two hours wrapping gifts for over 15 families.
The 1st annual Career Awareness Day at Folks MS will be held January 14th. Business partners and members of the community will present information about their careers to our students, to learn about the many different career/job opportunities they will have as an adult.
An amazing selection of books is headed to Folks MS! The bookfair, running from December 12-19th will bring the latest and finest titles for kids, as well as books to interest parents.
Parking will be very limited at the Folks Middle School dedication celebration to be held Monday, Nov. 4 at 6 pm. Guests are advised to park at Franklin Elementary School at 9180 Silver Spot, where courtesy shuttles will run continuously to Folks Middle School. Shuttles begin at 4:30 pm.
