National Association of Teachers of Singing

Founded in 1944, the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) is the largest professional association of teachers of singing in the world dedicated to the promotion of vocal education and research.  Annually,  NATS hosts a student region qualifying event to certify vocalists that will compete at the national level. 

The following Brandeis vocal students were selected as semi-finalists  in the Classical Category at the region competition:  Jenna Blazek,  Anissa Garcia, Tita Cediel,  and Selicia Perez. 

Anissa Garcia. and Tita Cediel  were also semi-finalists in the Musical Theatre Category.

Clark vocal student Ashley Logan was also selected as a semi-finalist in the Music Theatre Category.  Ashley was awarded second place overall in the Classical Music Category.  Her classical music presentation included “Elegy” (Massenet), “Love’s Philosophy” (Quilter), and “Art is Calling for Me” (from The Enchantress).

Brandeis HS choir directors are Ms. Rebecca Dawson Mr. Neal Patel and Clark HS choir directors  are Mr. James Hare and Ms. Megan Eyden.
