Denise Hernandez, Supervisors' Secretary

Denise Hernandez began with Northside ISD at the age of four when she began pre-kinder at Linton Elementary. She then attended Sul Ross MS before graduating from Business Careers high school in 2009. She is a product of the fine arts department’s excellence as she participated in 5th Grade Strings, acted at Sul Ross and played the flute from sixth grade until her graduation from high school, among other involvement with the arts in extracurricular activities. She was head drum major at Holmes/Business Careers both her junior and senior year. Denise was then a pre-med student at Baylor University before returning home to continue her education. She is currently working on her degree to become a teacher and is planning to achieve her Master’s degree and Doctorate in Administration.

She is a member of the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program and was included in the San Antonio Express News' "21 Rising Stars In Their 20s" this past year for her community work, activism and education advocacy.

Denise was hired to work in the Fine Arts department in November of 2011. She is the secretary for assistant director Elizabeth Sanchez-Lopez, Dr. Charlsey Sharon Chumley, David L. Cain, and David Nanny.
