Purpose:The
purpose of the migrant education program is to reduce the
educational disruptions and other problems that result from repeated
moves. Migrant Education assists eligible students by ensuring that
they are provided supplemental educational services in order to meet
the same challenging state content and student performance standards
that all children are expected to meet. There are 7 areas of focus in the Migrant Program:
1. Migrant Services
Coordination (all levels)
2. Identification and
Recruitment (ages 3-21)
3. Early Childhood Education
(ages 3 – 2nd grade)
4. Graduation Enhancement
(Grades 7-12)
5. Parental Involvement (all
Levels)
6. Secondary Credit Exchange
and Accrual (Grades 9 - 12)
7. The New Generation System
for Migrant Student Record Transfer (3-21)
NOTE: The Northside School District will
enter into a shared service arrangement with Region 20.
