Terry Whittle - Videographer/Editor

Terry Whittle joined the Communications Department in January 2000 as the videographer/editor for Inside Northside (formerly Video Lessons), NISD-TV's monthly video news magazine. In the first year, he introduced cutting-edge digital video and audio equipment to the department, making NISD-TV one of the most up-to-date and progressive school district studios in Texas. Video Lessons was revamped and was renamed Inside Northside Video Magazine, winning two gold and three silver Texas School Public Relations Association. Star Awards in March 2001.

Prior to joining NISD-TV, Terry worked as a master control operator and news photographer for KABB-29 (Fox). He also interned as a news photographer with KSAT-12 (ABC), while earning his associate's degree in Radio-TV-Film from San Antonio College.

Tim Irvin - Media Specialist

Tim Irvin joined the Communications Department in April of 2008 as a Media Specialist.  He is a graduate of El Paso Community College and received his Certificate of Completion in photo-technology and an Associate of Applied Science in Media Production.  The position of Media Specialist is supported by his 25 plus years in television news, and his still photography experience. In those years, he has worked with all media formats, as well as live studio work, live field productions, linear and non- linear editing and helped manage a team of talented photographers.

Tim’s duties include supporting the NISD-TV program “Inside Northside,” a monthly video magazine that promotes and highlights the Northside Independent School District. He is also responsible for the shooting and editing of the many projects the Communications Department is charged with producing. The state of the art television studio that NISD-TV premiered in January of 2008 uses multiple top of the line non-linear editing systems and an all digital switcher, the VT-5 by Newtek.

Tim has worked in several television markets including KDBC-TV in El Paso, Texas, WBBH-TV in Ft. Myers, Florida, KTUL-TV in Tulsa, Oklahoma and KENS-TV here in San Antonio. Tim left his most recent position as Senior Photographer at KABB-TV in San Antonio after 13 years.  He was one of the original photographers to help launch the “Nine O’clock News.”
