About Us
It is the purpose of Colonies North Elementary School, in partnership with parents, to serve the community through the education of its children, including the development of their intellectual, moral, social, and physical beings. This development is facilitated by teachers assisting each child in the acquisition of basic skills needed to cope with everyday living. Students are helped to acquire attitudes, abilities and interests for a satisfying and worthwhile life. Colonies North Elementary School is guiding children to a deeper understanding and appreciation of America, its diversity, and the values upon which our country was built.
- Colonies North Historical Information: Built in 1966, Colonies North Elementary School has been through many changes to accommodate our growing community. Currently about 670 students are enrolled.
- Colonies North is a Recognized campus according to the Texas Education Agency. Our students continue to maintain scores well above NISD and State averages.

Accelerated Reader is our school-wide, computerized reading program. Children are encouraged by both teachers and parents to read books at an appropriate reading level and receive points according to how they score on computerized comprehension tests.
