Seniors, it will be important for you to inform Jostens that you are a senior at CCA. If not, they will issue you the wrong color robe. The robe color for CCA is black. If you have already placed your order and did not tell Jostens you are a CCA student it will be important to contact them and notify them of the change.

Architects from the firms Alamo Architects and Garza/Bomberger & Associates visit with CCA architect students to discuss house plans. Architects meet with the CCA Parade of Homes Build Competition architects to discuss their design and the layout of their homes for the May Parade of Homes competition. Students have the opportunity to showcase their drawings, ask questions, and receive real-world feedback from some of the top architects in the industry.

Students from Neff Middle School visit the campus. Over 25 8th graders from Neff Middle School got a first-hand look at CCA's advanced construction program. Students from Neff's technology education program were given a tour of the facility, they met with the Principal for a program overview, and they participated in an exercise, lead by Academy students, using electrical current. Neff technology education teacher, Joshua Roberts, felt the visit was a huge succes

Construction Careers Academy Freshman step up to meet the demands and challenges of the rigorous program at the Academy. The Academy's Freshman, under the leadership of instructors Bill Stiteler, Eric Wrana, and Jose Vazquez, have hit the ground running. KABB TV visits the CCA campus this morning from 9am to 10am. KABB TV anchor Mike Hernandez, host of the morning show "Mike On The Move," visits the campus and spotlights CCA students. Students showcased their welding, carpentry, and electrical skills.

CCA seniors attend the November meeting of National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). Students Gabriela Varela, Nadine Mireles and Autumn Sancho accompanied instructor Krista Ackles to the event at the Valero Petroleum Club. The girls met women in the construction industry from different companies in the San Antonio area.

The Boy Scouts, Troop 829, visited the campus of CCA on Saturday October 26, 2013. Students worked hard to complete five projects toward their Craftsman Activity Badge. Students were challenged to use hand tools to cut, measure, and construct a bird house, a business card holder, two scarf neck slides, and a marshmallow launcher. The Scouts showed off their skills and had a great time working in collaborative teams.
