The CCA Principal's Cabinet for the 2014/2015 school year is announced. The Principal’s Cabinet is a governing body of students made up of a cross section of all four grades. Selected students endured a rigorous screening process that included a review committee, teacher recommendations, records review, and performance evaluation. Meet the cabinet--CLICK HERE.

CCA students join forces with Habitat For Humanity. On Saturday, September 27th, over 30 students from CCA partnered with Habitat For Humanity to build a home for a family in need. Students had an opportunity to hone the skills learned in CCA, gain real-world experience, and serve the community. Click Here for more pictures.

Six female students from CCA partner with San Antonio Water System (SAWS) to form an IMPACT Team. IMPACT Teams are service learning teams formed in area high schools that design and facilitate a water-related, service learning project during the academic year. Team members become actively involved in their community by completing a project and sharing their results with others.

CCA Seniors attend financial presentation and cover topics ranging from budgeting, establishing credit, credit scores, retirement planning, benefits comparison, and information on establishing a business. The presentation was part of CCA's efforts to prepare students for the 2014/2015 build competition. Students will be required to look at all aspects of financial planning for the build.

Juniors will make their selection for class ring next week on September 23 & 24 during lunch. Jostens and CCA have joined forces to create a design exclusively for CCA students. When ordering their ring Academy students should notify Jostens that they attend CCA. View ordering information here.

Freshman tackle the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 hour certification. As part of the Construction Careers Academy's advanced curriculum CCA freshman are required to complete the 10 hour OSHA certification. Over 158 freshman are poised to complete their OSHA 10 hour certification requirements at the end of September. Students have learned the value of safety in the workplace.

CCA had its first Parent Meet and Greet for the 2014/2015 school year. Parents had an opportunity to participate in a town hall meeting, tour the facility, learn about the Academy's programs and curriculum, and visit with the staff. Over 200 parents and students turned out for the event. The event was a huge success!
