Capture a piece of CCA history. On May 11th, 2:30pm, the seniors will gather on the build site to take the first CCA Panoramic Picture (class photo). Panoramic pictures will be available for purchase on May 13th, 2:30pm, in the foyer of CCA. Pictures will cost from $25 to $35 depending on the package a student chooses.

CCA students met with AmeriCrane and Rush representatives to discuss and learn about crane operations and functions. Students discussed parts of the crane, loads, boom lengths, load charts, maximum loads, tipping points, sling loads and safety considerations. It was a hands-on opportunity.

CCA juniors and seniors participated in the regional Construction Careers Conference. Students throughout the region converged on the San Antonio Coliseum for the second annual Construction Careers Conference. Academy students had the opportunity to meet with companies, tour the event and participate in a construction competition with other students from the region.

From FINALIST to WINNER! CCA was a finalist in the San Antonio SPURS Team Up Challenge and in the running for $20,000. On Tuesday, April 7th, representatives from the SPURS Team Up Challenge showed up on the campus and surprised students with a check for $20,000. Proceeds will go toward the construction of the LEED and ADA Handicap Accessible Container Homes. More Pictures Here!

Thursday, March 26th, all NISD 8th grade students receiving an offer to attend CCA, in the fall, were invited out for an orientation. Over 325 parents and students came out. Students and parents had an opportunity to visit with current CCA students, members of the CCA Parent Partnership, instructors, and staff.
