CCA geometry in construction students, under the leadership of Ms. Katie Gerlich, use quadrilaterals to mark rectangular foundations. Students applied what they learned in their geometry in construction curriculum to measure and mark for a foundation. The exercise was a real-world application on how geometry is used in the construction industry.

CCA students make a difference in the community -25+ students and family members spent their afternoon sorting over 10,000lbs of frozen food and gardening at the San Antonio Food Bank on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016. CCA sophomore, Kate Gause organized the event. CCA is very proud of the students that volunteered their time and talents to this worthy organization.

Construction Management students visited Turner Construction. As part of CCA's ongoing efforts to ensure students get real world exposure to the construction industry, students visited a Turner Construction site. Students got a first hand look at how the concepts learned in CCA are applied to the industry. Students met with officials from Turner Construction.

Congressman Joaquin Castro visits CCA. Congressman Castro toured the facility, spoke with students and staff. Congressman Castro met with students to discuss work force development. He emphasized the importance of the work they do and the impact the training they receive at CCA has on the industry, their personal life and their success.

On January 28th, 6:30pm, in the Warren Cafeteria, CCA will host the new recruit open house. Eighth grade students and parents interested in attending CCA next year are encouraged to attend. Students and parents will meet staff, tour the facility and learn about the curriculum.

On January 29th and 30th CCA/Warren will host academic decathlon. Students will be on an alternative schedule on January 29th. To accommodate the decathlon January 29th will be a half day for students. Students will be dismissed at 12pm. Download Revised Bell Schedule Here!

CCA students hit the recruiting trail. Students will visit the campus of 20 Northside Middle Schools and speak with a combined 8,000 8th graders. Twenty teams selected from a pool of 65 applicants will visit the middle school campus and showcase CCA's outstanding program and course offerings.

CCA students met with industry mentors as part of the ACE Mentorship program. Students had the opportunity to connect with industry professionals in the fields of architecture, construction, and engineering. Students will work in concert with their mentors to explore the industry and prepare a presentation to be presented to industry professionals and peers in May.

CCA was awarded a $25,000 Grant from Constellation Energy as part of their E2 Energy to Educate program. The program offers students in grades 6-12 opportunities to experience problem-solving today’s and tomorrow’s energy challenges. Grants are used to fund projects designed to enhance students’ understanding of science and technology, and inspire them to think differently about energy.
