CCA's first annual career fair was held on May 21st. Businesses throughout the region met with students, took resumes, set up interviews and discussed career opportunities. Seniors from both CCA and Warren participated in the event. The event was part of CCA's mission to serve as a catalyst to train and prepare students to enter the construction industry.

Three of CCA's top students sign college commitment letters. Joshua Ybarra, Madeline Horner, and Christopher Casias sign their college commitment letters. Joshua Ybarra signed with Lubbock Christian University to run cross country, Madeline Horner signed with the University of New Mexico as a member of the diving team, and Chris Casias signed to play baseball with Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Congratulations!

On Saturday May 16th CCA conducted its second annual CCA Parade of Homes event. The event was free and open to the public. Attendees toured the container homes built by students, visited the vendors showcase, participated in a silent auction and a reserve auction for the container homes. The event was a huge success with over 3,000 in attendance.

Capture a piece of CCA history. On May 22nd, 2:30pm, the seniors will gather on the build site to take the first CCA Panoramic Picture (class photo). The pre-order of panoramic pictures will begin on May 18th. Pictures will cost $20.

The first annual CCA Career Fair will be held on May 21st, 11:30am to 4:00pm, Rm D200. CCA and Warren students are encouraged to prepare their resume and plan to meet with potential employers.

The day has come, the homes have been judged, and the overall winner has been decided. Five judges, including Northside ISD Superintendent Dr. Brian Woods and business partners from the community, rated the container homes based on kitchens, floor plans, bedrooms and overall designs. The overall winner? The LEED.

The CCA container build was featured on the San Antonio Express News' MySA. Check out the article, pictures and video here. The homes will be open for viewing on May 16th, from 9am to 4pm, during the Academy's second annual Parade of Homes Showcase. The event is free and open to the public.

On Tuesday, May 5th, the CCA ACE Mentorship group met at the UTSA downtown campus to showcase and present their ACE mentorship project. The team presented an ACE Arcade idea as their design project for the year. The CCA team was one of five schools to present.
