In order to reliably assess 8th grade students' technology literacy, Northside ISD will again be requiring all district middle schools to proctor the TCEA-TLA (Texas Computer Education Association-TechLiteracy Assessment). This assessment is based on Texas's Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
Our campus is scheduled to take the assessment May 28-May 30 through the 8th grade US History classes. This assessment will be proctored by the US History teachers, with the support of the campus CIT. The resulting data will help both Briscoe MS and Northside ISD better support the needs of students and teachers through the technology integration process.
We strongly encourage you and your student to check out the 8-question sample test - and the more-extensive Part 1 and Part 2 Pretests. (READ MORE)

Kudos to our first Briscoe Quiz Bowl team who competed last Saturday, February 1st in the regional competition, held at Clark High School. Fourteen Bexar County middle school teams competed in six preliminary rounds, followed by a single elimination tournament. Our students walked away with a total of six wins, which is impressive considering the team had only three weeks to prepare. The team members include: Gillian F., Alex G., Tristan G., Erika H., Courtney I., Alan J., Steven L., Itziana L., Eddie P., Ethan S., Elizabeth S., and Alyssa V. Please congratulate these dedicated students as they represented Briscoe with class and dignity. Way to go Quiz Bowl Team!
