"I am proud to be a member of a Board of Trustees that works together with the superintendent as a team of eight that is committed to do what is best for the children, staff, and the NISD community. The most important responsibility a Board has is to hire a superintendent. This Board worked together through the process last year, interviewed highly qualified candidates and with pride and confidence we chose Dr. Brian Woods to lead this district. There are many challenges ahead for public education and for NISD. It is critical that we keep the focus on our children and work diligently to provide for them the educational opportunities they need to achieve their own personal best for success academically and in life. NISD has become recognized statewide and nationally for its excellence. There are many people that help make this happen. I am honored to work alongside parents, community, staff, and board members as we continue to do what is in the best interest of the children of Northside Independent School District."
