My name is Carin Adermann, and it is my privilege to serve as the principal of Blattman Elementary.
I'm a proud graduate of Texas A&M University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Reading in 1989. I began my teaching career with the Department of Defense Dependents Schools in Okinawa, Japan, where I taught both first and second grades, then joined Northside Independent School District in 1993, teaching fourth grade at Brauchle Elementary for ten years. Upon completion of my Master of Arts in Educational Leadership at the University of Texas San Antonio in 2003, I served three years as vice principal at another beautiful Northside school, Dr. Joe Ward Elementary.
If you ask anyone who knows me well, they will share with you that I love school! It's exciting to see the result of good instruction, collaboration, and meaningful learning experiences. Watching children grow in what they understand and are able to do is rewarding beyond words!
More than school, I love my family. I enjoy traveling with my husband, Dean, and children, Rebecca and Jake, who make me laugh and keep me grounded. They are the best!As we enter the new school year, please feel free to stop by, call or e-mail me if I can be of assistance. I look forward to a new year with you and your family at Blattman Elementary where we have the Best Kids Anywhere!
Welcome to Blattman Elementary, home of the Black Bears. My name is Donna Gavegan, and it is my pleasure and privilege to serve as the Vice Principal of Blattman. I look forward to creating great memories with you along the way.
I have 20 years of experience, where I've served as a teacher, counselor, and assistant principal. Regardless of my role, I'll always be a child advocate and I will never forget the tremendous responsibility it is to be a classroom teacher.
Please feel free to contact me if there is anything I can do to help make Blattman the best school ever.
