Thanks to a generous donation by Blattman grandfather Ken Beasley, a new hummingbird and butterfly garden graces the front of our beautiful school. Mr. Beasley won the custom built garden in a Mitchell Lake Audubon raffle and offered this top prize to our school so children of Blattman may enjoy it for years to come. This generous donation included drip irrigation, compost, mulch, plants, and rock edging to compliment the school exterior. Thanks to the combined efforts of landscape architect Terry Lewis, Dr. Calvin Finch of the Texas A&M Water Conservation and Technology Center, and Northside’s helpful Maintenance and Custodial Staff, the garden was planted over a July weekend and is already thriving. We look forward to watching our plants and children grow over the year to come!
