BCHS student accepted into prestigous Rawls Business Leaders Program

On Wednesday, April 16th Francisco D, a student at Business Careers High School, had a very special visit from Dean Lance Nail of the Rawls College of Business.  Dr. Nail visited BCHS to personally inform Francisco that he had been accepted into the prestigious Rawls Business Leaders Program.

The Rawls Business Leaders Program is an elite business program at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.  As a student accepted into this program Francisco has been awarded a scholarship in excess of $20,000 per year for tuition, room, and board with additional work-study opportunities.  Francisco will be housed with other RBLP students in one of the most modern dormitories on the Texas Tech campus, which is conveniently located adjacent to the Rawls School of Business, and he will have the opportunity to study abroad his junior year of college.

Francisco’s acceptance into the Rawls Business Leaders Program (RBLP) was based upon his academic performance, leadership traits, and personal interview.  This year over nine hundred students applied for this prestigious program, and only twelve students were accepted.  According to Dr. Nail, “We were all impressed by his (Francisco’s) maturity and aspirations. . . I am expecting great things from this young man just as I know you are.   My congratulations to you and your faculty for developing such a fine young man.”
