Adult Secondary Education Classes

Adult Education classes are offered FREE of charge for adult students at all academic levels. Adult Secondary Education includes basic education and GED® preparation classes that help students acquire the reading, writing, and math skills necessary to successfully complete the GED® exam. Classes also integrate the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency.

As a result of Adult Secondary Education class participation, students are better equipped to:

  • Help their children in their educational development
  • Complete a secondary school education by obtaining their GED®
  • Begin post-secondary education
  • Improve career options and opportunities

Class Schedule

Classes meet for a minimum of 6 hours a week. They are available Monday through Friday, during the day and in the evening, at several locations throughout the Northside Independent School District. If you do not feel you can attend scheduled classes, Distance Learning classes may better meet your needs. Please click here for more information.

Teen GED® Class

A GED® preparation class is available for 16 and 17 year old students.The requirements for 16 and 17 year olds differ from those in the adult classes. Please click here for registration dates and times or contact the Adult Education office for more information.
