Adult Basic and Secondary Education

Adult Secondary Education (ASE)Classes

Adult Education classes are offered for adult students at all academic levels. Adult Secondary Education includes basic education and GED® preparation classes that help students acquire the reading, writing, and math skills necessary to successfully complete the GED® exam. ASE Classes also integrate the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency.

As a result of Adult Secondary Education class participation, students are better equipped to:

  • Help their children in their educational development
  • Complete a secondary school education by obtaining their GED®
  • Begin post-secondary education
  • Improve career options and opportunities

Class Schedule

Classes meet for a minimum of 6 hours a week. They are available Monday through Thursday, during the day and in the evening, at several locations throughout the Northside Independent School District.

AWS-Hillcrest M-TH 9am-1pm
AWS-Marbach M-TH 9am-1pm
Northside Learning Center M & W, T & TH       Times Varies  (AM & PM Schedule)
Northside Learning Center Saturday (9am-11am) (11am-1pm)

Class Registration

Teen GED® Class

A GED® preparation class is available for 16 and 17 year old students.The requirements for 16 and 17 year olds differ from those in the adult classes will be posted in July, 2015. For additional information please contact the Adult Education office.
